Movement or coordination moderately affected throughout the whole body.

Movement affected to a high degree in the trunk and legs.

Movement of the shoulders and arms affected to a mild degree, with movement in the rest of the body and legs highly affected.

Movement or coordination highly affected throughout the trunk and legs with grip mildly affected in the hands.

Absence of one forearm, one leg through the knee and one leg above the knee. Movement in one hand is also mildly affected.

 


SM4 is for medley swimmers with movement affected to a high degree in the trunk and legs, who are also affected in the hands, or the absence of limbs.

These swimmers generate the majority of their power from the shoulders. They use alternating breathing patterns to keep their body position high in the water and turn predominantly using their arms with little or no push from the wall coming from the legs.
